I've teamed up with Kinyatta Reynolds, a local executive function coach, and designed a series of classes for parents raising teens with ADHD.
This 6-week series is designed for parents of teens who are struggling with executive functioning challenges such as organization, procrastination, follow-through, and academic stress. It also addresses the impact ADHD has at home—particularly emotional dysregulation, conflict, and the strain it can place on the entire family system. Finally, we hope that as you learn more about what ADHD actually is, you can provide more effective support for your teen so that they can start to feel like they can succeed.
Specific outcomes:
1) Understand your teen's ADHD beyond hyperactivity and inattention.
2) Learn how ADHD is a family systems issue, not just a singular diagnosis.
3) Improve your understanding of your teen's emotional experience.
4) Discover and practice new parenting tools designed for ADHD.
5) Decrease reactivity in your home.
6) Gain resources.
7) Build community with parents who understand.
Class sizes are limited to 6 parent couples and are intentionally small in order to give you personalized support and create a dialogue/workshop setting rather than a lecture format.
